Jeanious

Jeanious is a unique service providing made-to-fit jeans for women. Jeanious believes in providing a pleasurable, relaxed shopping experience with outstanding customer service. Jeanious employees are valuable resources for our customer’s catering to their every need. The process involves taking the customer’s measurements using a very accurate three-dimensional body scanning method, taking very little time. After the customer has had the scan they will continue the consultation which will cover; colour wash, style, fabric and trims. The measurements from the scanner along with the needs and wants of the customer will come together to create their own ‘perfect’ pair of jeans.

Inspiration for project

Sizing is a big issue on the UK high street, the UK has such a huge and diverse population, and it has people of all religions, shapes and sizes. The high street needs to be able to provide to all of these consumers to make a profit and have stability in the high street in the UK. Obesity is a big issue at the moment, the Government and the NHS have put together planned strategies to tackle this problem recently. Although measures have been put
into place to tackle the problems the number of obesity cases are rising.

The issue of size is not just with plus sizing, but with general size ranges not providing for everyone. The majority of the high street size ranges are between 8 – 16, this is not providing for the petite, short and tall sector of the market. From recent sizing surveys the results have shown that the average size of a woman in the UK is a 16, the majority of high street store ranges only go up to a size 16 which makes it very difficult for anyone above average.
